Day #9 – Gratitude To My Writing Soul

Gratitude-changes-everything-900.jpg

If I could write my writing a letter of gratitude it would simply read:-

Dearest My Best Friend To My Writing Soul… usually at this moment something comes over me and takes on my daily writing… but currently that thing that I rely on to help me in my writing is being asked to stop doing its thing and listen to the gratitude of the person typing this heartfelt letter of thanks.

Without my writing in my life… I lived one day at a time in a mental mind fog that continually threatened to ignite the unminded temper tantrums of all that engulfs my soul.

Without you, my writing companion I would be lost somewhere between a functioning ignorance to my many thoughts and a person walking a tightrope between a sanely normal person acting like every day and everything is ok and on track for a better day in my tomorrows.

I am not sure if it was I who pushed myself to pick up my pen or to take up my keyboard to my hand or if it was you my writing friend who subconsciously kept digging and niggling at me to return to writing… but which one of it was it us certainly that greatest of gifts that I or could have given to mind and soul that was in serious need of self gagging writing therapy.

But the truth be known that if it wasn’t for you my writing companion and my will to find it in myself to write every day that I would at the very least be lost to know who it is that I am today.

My daily writing has given me back to myself and has delivered me to a stability within myself that I have for the longest time wanted to feel.

So to my Dearest My Best Friend To My Writing Soul… you are the reason behind my happier self… found deeply buried in my rubble foundations.

I was the hurricane in my own story… but I was also the savour of myself.. on one hand I let the hurricane in me tumble and twirl – breaking out of control from time to time; but I was also able to tame the wind of the hurricane storms that threatened to uproot all of whom I was yet to become.

You were the light to my souls darkened tunnels… the freedom seeker to my deepest hurts… calming safe place for me and for us.

Gratitude isn’t enough, but thank you me, us, we & My Dearest My Best Friend To My Writing Soul…

Signed
~ We ~

Another written pictured quote that I will use in today’s daily writing write: –

My wisdom did not come easy.
It was forged in the fires of hell and
Welded with chains of betrayal.
I never thought that I’d make it through,
Let alone make it out sane, but I did…
And through it all, I learned that the human
Spirit possesses such immense strength
That each and every one of us has the power
To grow through our worst nightmares.

What the above written pictured quote writes to me is this: –

Emergence Of Me

Who I have become
Hasn’t been the easiest of roads travelled…
Hardest times
Have led me from the sadness
That once was my eyes.

I became engulfed in the parts of me that I could Read, reach or exist with…
Like a virus entombing my soul
I scratched at my surface
And dug deep into the deep and buried
Parts of me that I hid from all, even from myself.

Inner strength clawed into my foundations
Clawing onwards and upwards to my surface
Where my inner hurricane met with me.

My inner strengths empowered my mind
Pushing me into unburdening my soul.
Courage wasn’t in my toolbox
For I had been running for quite some time.

Overwhelmed and lost in my footing
My hard slogged footsteps
Led me to an inner calmness
That I had never felt.

Giving into the process of rebuilding myself
Has led me to the clearing
That my souls writing companion
Has been able to rejoice in.

Not out of the woods
But no longer trudging through the marshlands
Somedays the sun is blanketed by the clouds
And those same clouds; they still rain…
But it is how I now walk through these days
That shows the character of the person that I have become …

Through the worst parts of my
Broken heart, mind and soul
Is the me that I made out of the rubble
That laid beneath my feet.
Today I am not yet complete,
But I am busily rebuilding my inner self.

What I have learned throughout my writing journey is that writing what burdens us gives relief to the soul.

A pictured quote has recently come across my table that I feel is both right and wrong in its verse.

“Your life is your story.
Write Well.
Edit often.”

What I feel is right about this written quote is … a person should indeed write their story of their life’s journey … someday the story it tells will rebirth itself in your life journeys legacy… writing well is a grey line… what we write should be open, raw, truth and honest… written with conviction to one’s true inner self… standing tall to what was once in our way… owning it and bringing ourselves out of our nightmare.

What I see as wrong about this written pictured quote is that we should never sacrifice what-what we write today in our rawness for a rewrite or an edit to was yesterdays past… our story is worth telling no matter how much pain is inside… editing what was will only serve to recover up what good awaited us in the wake of yesterdays pain.

A famous riddle by Dr. Seuss writes this..

Today you are you,
That is truer than true
There is no one alive
Who is youer than you.

Reference – https://trend.usao.edu/2014/07/31/just-be-yourself

A write-up taken in part to the meaning on Dr. Seuss’s tongue twister.

This funny little riddle is more than an entertaining tongue twister that happened to contain a moral lesson. It actually has a deeper meaning for children and adults alike.
The broadest meaning is simply everyone is their own person.

The wind is going to blow from all directions and at times it will blow hard. If you work at staying true to who you were before the wind blows, you can undergo the pressure and the hard times and not have to worry about how it is going to affect your character. Your character will come through untouched and you will be the same person.

Change isn’t an instantaneous event. It instead spans over the course of years. So, you are who you are today until you go through the change tomorrow.

The cycle is never-ending and you can’t be today who you will be tomorrow. It is impossible simply because tomorrow hasn’t happened yet. You might not exactly change from day to day, but you cannot go through the change before what changes you has happened. How’s that for a funny little riddle?

What I take from the famous riddle by Dr Seuss’s is this…

Today you are you,
That is truer than true
There is no one alive
Who is youer than you.

Who we endeavour to be in our tomorrows future
Is merely impossible without first going through
The struggles of our today’s.

We are only given one life, one persona and a million different options in building us and our life’s footsteps in the path that we want to build.

No one can or will walk our journey
We must walk it alone
What comes of our future is paved by our past.

The you in each of us
Is all the you that we will ever have
Our you is our future
Our you is our past
And our you is the tool to the footprints we will trudge.
